Ulysses 31
Ulysses 31
Ulysses 31 is a sci-fi reworking of the ancient Greek and Roman tales of Odysseus or Ulysses, and famous from James Joyce's novel Ulysses. I used to think this was an amazing cartoon when I was younger, and unlike some children's cartoons, it only gets better with age.
Ulysses angers the Gods by killing the giant Cyclops. As punishment they freeze the crew of his ship and sentence him to travel the Universe until he find Hades, where upon his crew will awaken and he can return to Earth.
This series is full of action but also makes you think, especially if you have read Ulysses by James Joyce. It also happens to have one of the best theme tunes ever!
